Short Story, Memoir & Poetry Workshop
When: Wednesday November 4 & 25
Time: 1pm to 3pm
Where: Art Central, 24 Church St, Moruya
Cost: Concession/Members: $50, Non-Members: $60
Tutor: Paul Cullen
About: If you have ever thought about writing something, whether it be prose, poetry or drama come along to a two-part workshop for support and inspiration.
We will critique aesthetic examples of contemporary writing as a guide to starting your own work.
You will be guided in developing a narrative arc for memoir and prose compositions as well as effective structure for poetry writing.

Ceramic Garden Totem Pole
When: Saturday October 10, 17, 31, November 7, 15 & December 5
Time: 1:30pm to 3:30pm
Where: Art Central, 24 Church St, Moruya
Cost: $360 (includes clay, firing and glazes)
Tutor: Cath Bowdler
About: Design and create a series of forms using hand-building techniques - pinching, sculpting and slab-building - that can be stacked to form your own personal totem pole. Derive the theme from your passions and hobbies to create something unique. You can then decorate the forms with underglaze, sgraffito, slip and glaze to create a standout piece.

Art from Offcuts
When: Sunday 8 November
Time: 10am to 12:30pm
Where: Art Central, 24 Church St, Moruya
Cost: Concession/Members: $25, Non-Members: $30
Tutors: Lucile Carson & Bernie O'Neil
About: Using plywood offcuts, create unique paintings through an experimental, casual and playful approach. The shape of the ply will help determine your final design, allowing you to respond to the form of the wood. Inspired by the Heidelberg School cigar box paintings.
You can also assemble multiple pieces to further play with the shape, depth, and character of your artwork. Materials and tools provided.

Pottery Wheel Throwing for Beginners
When: Thursday November 5, 12, 19 & December 3
Time: 11am to 1pm
Where: Art Central, 24 Church St, Moruya
Cost: $240 (includes clay, firing and glazes).

About: Have you ever wanted to try wheel throwing with clay? Come and explore the magic of working with clay on a potters wheel. Make a cup for your morning coffee, a brekkie or soup bowl. This class is for beginners to give you a taste of throwing clay on a wheel. Three sessions of 2 hrs each, then glazing. Wear old clothes!
